Let me see with your eyes!
Let me hear with your ears!
Let me speak with your tongue;
not one word returning void.
Everything begins and ends with God. He created man in His image and likeness In the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.
To grow in the authority and power given to us by God to overcome the schemes of the enemy and to learn how to live a victorious life.
Thank you for visiting my page "More Than A Conqueror" I am excited about what God is going to do through this website. My prayer is that you will be empowered and enlightened through the spoken words upon this page and that they will bless you as much as they have blessed me and others.
O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him. Psalms 34:8
It has been a while since I last posted but there have been a lot of good things happening in my life. All praise and honor to God the Father. I have needed to prioritize so that I could complete certain task. I am grateful to say that I am back and believe that I have a word to share with you that has truly blessed my life and I know it will bless yours as well.
I have a word on strongholds and the effects that they have on our Christian walk and their ability if we do not act to bring them under the obedience of the word of God it can derail us from the will of God.
What exactly is a stronghold?
It’s an incorrect way of thinking that goes against everything that we believe, it will affect the way you feel, how you respond to life situations and relationships. It can cause you to lose your ability to think rationally.
The mind is the mecca of where we fight most of our battles. Everything that has ever happened to any of us always has started with a word. Words are powerful and they are seeds that are planted for life and death. Words shape the way we think. This is why we must guard what we allow in our ear gates.
Behind a stronghold is also a lie. The lie is what you receive as the truth that is the opposite of the word of God. It’s your belief that you hold on to where the word of God is not known.
These lies can be your personal bandages which bring fear and doubt to your life. This is not of God.
Strongholds-A place that has been fortified so as to protect it against attacks, a place where a particular cause or belief is strongly defended or upheld, fortress, fort castle. (Google Dictionary)
Strongholds can be a military position as it relates to their defense position but in this case we are talking about the same thing accept from the perspective of our thoughts and mindsets. Strongholds start from thoughts that are conceived in our minds and we ponder or meditate on them until they become a part of the way we think and our belief system.
For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled. (2 Corinthians 10: 3-6)
As a believer of Christ we are commanded to bring down all arguments that do not line up with what the bible says. Even though we live in a fleshly body we do not war with weapons that are seen but weapons that are not seen. The weapons that we use are divine and are from God, they are spiritual weapons and they are mighty in Him which gives us the power to pull down strongholds. You cannot fight the devil on his terms the only weapon the devil submits to is the Word of God. Who brings a knife to a gunfight? Well that is what this scripture is saying. These strongholds are spiritual so you must use spiritual weapons.
What are arguments?
An argument is an exchange of diverging or opposite views, typically a heated or angry one. A reason or set of reasons given with the aim of persuading others that an action or idea is right or wrong. (Google dictionary)
Arguments are anything that is opposite of what the Word of God says. It can be your philosophies, your own way of thinking, your pride can be an argument, fear can be an argument, and low self-esteem can be an argument. As this is not an exhaustive list but an example of such. Whenever your thinking is not in agreement with what the Word of God says it's an argument.
Many of us need to take some arguments we have now captive and bring them under the obedience of Christ. The reason why the Word of God tells us to cast down arguments is because that's where strongholds begin. It starts in the mind and if we allow that thought to remain and we ponder or meditate on it and we do not abolish it using the Word of God it can become a seed and after that the harvest is sin.
13 Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am tempted by God”; for God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does He Himself tempt anyone. 14 But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed. 15 Then, when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, brings forth death. 16 Do not be deceived, my beloved brethren. (James 1:13-16)
There are 2 types of strongholds:
2. Devil (The Father of lies and deception) Be sober; be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. (1 Peter 5:8)
Demonic strongholds are kryptonite to our spiritual walk. “Kryptonite” in this context is a metaphor of “weakness”
For all those that grew up on DC Comics, Superman and how kryptonite would render him weak. He could not fight in fact it made him so weak it would incapacitate him to the point that he was no help to anyone much less himself.
Well strongholds will do the same to us if we allow negative thoughts to fester and remain. It could derail us from the will of God and keep us from being effective in the body of Christ and can keep us out of the will of God.
Where do strongholds come from?
Strongholds are built upon lies and fear and they come from various places:
How do you tear down strongholds?
Since strongholds are built on fear and deception we defeat them with the truth. We must first accept God’s word as truth and make the decision to live by that truth. When we have thoughts or hear things that are opposite of what the Word of God says we defeat it with truth by saying what God says.
If someone says that you will never be anything, you speak and declare to yourself that I am the righteousness of God which in Christ Jesus (2 Cor. 5:21) and I am fearfully and wonderfully made. (Psalms 139:14) In fact take the time to read the entire 139 Psalms and see just how intimate God is with us through the eyes of David. God is always present and all powerful and mighty. Get to know God’s voice and his character by studying the bible. It will change the way you think, which then changes the way you see, which will change the way you live and finally the way you speak. You become a new creation in Christ.
17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.
(2 Corinthians 5:17)
I pray that you are blessed by this word and remember you are more than conquerors.
Father God, I pray for those who are dealing with mindsets that have caused them to be in a place of bondage. fallen into depression and fear uncertain as to why they are where they are. I pray that your healing power will touch their minds and destroy the yokes that bind. I ask that you will send laborers across their paths to enlighten them of the schemes and tricks of the enemy that in knowing they may be empowered to make the decision to seek your voice. I thank you now for answering the deliverance prayer and that you will be glorified all the more for it. In the name of Jesus. Amen!
